Prenco-TypeŽ Inks are used in marking items including, but not limited to, sheetmetal parts, steel parts, circuit boards, along with other plastic and metallic surfaces. The subject inks have been designated as quick drying over a long period of time and were made for marking pertinent information on all kinds of metals and plastics which are normally used in telephone, telegraph, television and related electronic industries, as well as the sheetmetal industries.
Application is by what we term the roll-out method, wherein some of the ink is squeezed onto a smooth flat surface utilizing a conventional (Brayer)Printing Roller. Distribution of the ink is accomplished by hand on a nonporous surface, such as metal, glass, plastic, and so forth, to the desired film thickness. Best results are obtained using a thin film. The ink is then transferred by means of a PRENCO-TYPEŽ rubber stamp to the article or material which is to be identified, using either direct or offset marking techniques. The inks are made for assembly line work and the drying time is from fifteen to thirty minutes, again depending on film thickness. These ink films dry by combination of evaporation and polymerization and will air dry satisfactorily on most surfaces. They can be force dried with heat in order to accomplish faster drying.
